Fun Fall Festivities!!!
We began our Halloween festivities with a trip to Boo at the Zoo! It was a fun evening, with included several loops around the zoo, a spooky train ride, and a magic show. We also attended the 3rd annual Halloween in the Village where Adam made his first appearance in his parrot costume! Halloween night was celebrated quietly with a quick trip to a few neighbors. Adam throughly enjoyed carving his pumpkin. He made sure not a seed was missed!

Finally, an update!
I can't believe its been over 2 months since our last blog post! My, how time flies when you're having fun. Adam continues to settle in beautifully. He definitely understands everything we say now. He primarily uses sign language to communicate. He is able to use more than 50 signs! He does try to say lots of words, but is only able to produce a limited number of consonant sounds. He definitely likes to "talk" and always has something to say!Adam enjoys spending alot of time outside. We spend most of days hanging by the river or in the backyard with Baby Cat and Sebastian. He also likes to go to the zoo, the wetlands, and I think he even likes to go shopping! Adam had his maiden kayak and sailboat rides recently and absolutely loved it! He is a natural on the sailboat and has NO fear. In just a few years, I'm sure him and Daddy will make a great catamaran racing team (Watch out Team Butterfly!!!aka The Chuck). Our Sunday tradition has become a hike at the Scrub Jay sanctuary with our dog, Sebastian.

One month
While it feels like I've always know Adam, I also still feel like I can't believe he is home. One month ago today, Brian and I met Adam for the first time. Our hearts and our lives will never be the same. We feel so blessed to have this sweet boy as our son. Adam definitely has the hang of his new routine. He enjoys playing with his toys, riding in the jogging stroller, going for walks with the dog, taking a long bath with lots of splashing, eating, eating some more, signing "more eat" frequently throughout the day, saying "hi" to Sebastian, Peewee, and Baby Cat (our pets) when he wakes up, having Mom and Dad hold him, sitting in any kind of basket, and pointing to fans. He has met his grandparents, as well as some uncles, his aunt, and his little cousin. He also had his first trip to the zoo and the beach.
